“I miss thee from my home dear wife. I miss thee from thy place. A shadow over my life is cast. I miss the sunshine of thy face. I miss thy knod and willing hand. Thy fond and earnest care. My home is dark without thee. I miss thee everywhere.” (Back of tombstone of Emaline Lee Hunter, wife of Richard Henry Hunter. They were the parents of Gus Esco Hunter Sr., the grandparents of Emma Callie Hunter Fletcher, and the great grandparents of Burton Fletcher.)
 
The fairest flower we fondly love. How soon it fades and dies.
 
A precious one from us has gone. A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home that never can be filled.
 
God in his wisdom has recalled the body his love had given. And though the body slumbers here, the soul is safe in heaven.
 
No pains, no grief, no ____ feat.
Can reach our loved one sleeping here.
 
When the one you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

This life was beauty, truly goodness and love.
Dear Father with a reverent hand this thy memory given, while one by one thy household band God reunites in Heaven.
 
Our Father, Gone from our home, but not from our hearts.
 
A flower just blooming into life, enticed an angel’s eye, too pure for earth he said, “Come Home,” and bade the floweret die.
