Lenial Carter contacted us regarding a bronze memorial that he had placed in
a local cemetery. He was interested in updating the look of his wife Anns memorial
with a more personalized look, offered by the addition of our finest porcelain
photographs. Mr. Carters personal concerns also lie in the fact that he, too, will
someday rest there.
Lenial provided us with photographs of himself, (b. 1920), and his lovely bride, Ann M.
Carter (b. 1926, d. 2000), of whom he married on July 4, 1945. They lived together as man
and wife for 55 years, until she passed away on July 14, 2000.
Time ages all of us, and a happy time for the Carter family was when Lenial and Ann were
young adults. He served his country proudly in U.S. Army, and she was a very attractive
young woman in Ironton, Ohio. A photograph indicative of this time period is the one that
Lenial chose to use. I think you will agree that the porcelains for Mr. and Mrs. Carter
look terrific, and they personalize the memorial site in a way that only a photograph can.
We encourage our clients to use photographs that make them happy, and many clients use
photographs taken when they were youthful or taken at special events, such as at their
first meeting, or at their wedding, evoking loving memories.
We took Mr. and Mrs. Carters photographs, and we made the thin porcelain from their
pictures. We assured Mr. Carter that the original photographs would be unharmed in the
process and would be returned in the same condition that we received them, and we were
good to our word.
We manufactured a flat porcelain that offered a low profile, and with a durable metal
backing that we prefer over less expensive products. All of our products have ultraviolet
protection and are guaranteed not to fade.
Since the photographs would be mounted to the bronze, we used a very thin, but very strong
sealant that allows for an invisible and durable bond for both maximum attractiveness and
supreme client satisfaction. We also used the popular oval shape in the 4 ¼ by 3 ¼
inches vertical size for a very appealing look.
I wish to make a final personal note about the appearance of the Carters bronze
memorial. When we installed the porcelain pictures, we observed a bronze memorial plaque
that was tarnished, discolored, and unattractive. Our office has a policy of cleaning
memorials before completing our assignments. Thus, we swept and cleaned the bronze
memorial. The results were fantastic!
If you should desire that we maintain your memorials in pristine condition, then that is
definitely another service that we provide. If you would like to retrofit a bronze,
marble, or granite headstone with the personalization that a porcelain photograph offers,
please contact the Memorial Doctor for assistance. We manufacture and ship throughout the
United States and Canada.
You can both see our work and pay your respects to Mrs. Carter by visiting the McLane
Riverview Memorial Gardens, Section 4, Apostles 2, Lot 196, Space 2, the marker for he and
his loving wife of many years. The bronze plaque is 48.5" long, 18.5" wide.
As a memorialist, the appearance of memorials is very important as grave site memorials
reflect on the family and are an important part of our commitment to the community. To us,
memorialization is more than a business, it is our passion.
