Feng Shui is “the Chinese system that studies people’s relationship to the environment in which they live, especially their dwelling or workspace, in order to achieve maximum harmony with the spiritual forces believed to influence all places.” Source: Encarta Dictionary: English (North America).
Feng Shui for memorials is a concept worth thinking about. Perhaps we can use Feng Shui to achieve maximum harmony in the creation of memorials.
Harmony is a concept that I often think about. A lawyer might speak of “the totality of the circumstances.” Harmony is a concept that requires proper balance between the stone and the memorialization. Some folks desire to purchase a beautiful stone, and then mar the beauty of the memorial by an imbalance between design, color, carving, etching, lettering, lithochrome, content, positioning and symbolism.
As in life, excess is to be avoided in the use of symbols, words, or pictures on stone. A talented and experienced person with artistic talent should be consulted to guide you through the process. Listen to the consultant. If you trust the consultant, and you should, then trust the advice. You will be glad you did!
Our company would be happy to provide the assistance of a Feng Shui professional to help you develop a memorial with the perfect harmonious balance.
