I have always liked to work with a theme in my artwork. During my lifetime, I have employed various themes in decorating my homes, ranging from Asian to poor college student. (Smile) Another way to find your theme in your household, your garden, or elsewhere is to understand your niche or your style. Have you been in a space (A home? A garden? A particular room?) that puts you at ease? That space fits your style.
Themes bring an order to our homes and assist us in tying everything together. Themes allow us to customize our surroundings to our personalities. Whether it is with engraved rock or engraved walking stones, it can be fun to create a distinctive garden or walkway.
The same idea exists when you decide on your memorial space. You are creating a space that relatives and loved ones will visit for generations to come. You are showing these people your style. In that design, you can teach ancestors about your and your family’s life. Perhaps by creating walking or garden stones with the names and birthdays of family and loved ones would be interesting. A line of ancestors could be immortalized through a one-of-a-kind memorial that would act as a rock memorial for each ancestor.
Engraved walking stones with jokes, fun words, Bible verses, and inspirational phrases and the like could be a glimpse into your personality. Memorialists have the tools, and you can be as creative as you like. Think of it as hiring your own artist. You tell the memorialist what you want, and maybe they can even help you improve on the idea! The main thing is to work with a sense of harmony and tie everything together, and themes do that effectively. Now, enjoy!
