The Memorialist: Elmhurst Cemetery, Elberton, Georgia: Die Family Memorial

Author: Burton Fletcher
Publication Date: 2005-12

Another beautiful memorial within the Elmhurst Cemetery, located in Elberton, Georgia is a memorial for the Die family.

Though not as imposing as some of the inspiring works of art that may be found in this cemetery, this is a beautiful memorial within financial reach of the average family. The granite color is attractive and interesting.

A starburst design has been deep carved around the raised cross with a polished finish. The cross, symbolizing Christianity, matches the primary portion of the tablet with an all-polished finish.

The top of the tablet has a flat top, and a check on the right end of the top adds an attractive appeal to the head of the memorial. Checks, or notches, on the bottom of the tablet on the left and right sides add interest to the design.

The line with the rose is nice-looking, though I would have preferred a larger rose; a rose is a symbol for love.

The base has a polished flat top with a polished margin with rock pitch, or rustic, treatment at the bottom of the base.

This is a comparatively simple design to make with considerable eye appeal that would honor any family.
